Boys & Girls Club of the Foothills seeks individuals who believe deeply in our mission and bring expertise that strengthens the organization. Ideal board candidates think strategically, support leadership without getting involved in day-to-day operations, and exercise independent judgment while working collaboratively with others. They come prepared, follow through on commitments, and engage in thoughtful, respectful discussion, asking hard questions when needed. Board members contribute to important decisions, provide strategic guidance, help expand opportunities for young people, and work alongside a committed group of leaders who care deeply about our mission.

Board members serve as strategic partners to the organization’s leadership and stewards of its long-term success. Key responsibilities include:

• Advancing and upholding the organization’s mission, purpose, and core values
• Supporting and evaluating the Chief Executive
• Participating in strategic planning and annual goal setting
• Uphold fiduciary responsibilities by ensuring sound financial oversight, legal compliance, and ethical governance
• Supporting fundraising and resource development through giving, opening doors, and building relationships
• Acting as ambassadors in the community
• Monitoring program effectiveness and organizational impact
• Upholding legal, ethical, and governance standards
• Attend monthly 1 hour board meetings and participate in one committee
• Attend and support annual events and campaigns
• Make a minimum annual “give or get” contribution of $5,000
• Leverage personal and professional networks when appropriate
• Participate in recruiting and onboarding future board members
