Kristoffer Kaufmann President

Kristoffer is a managing member of Highland Property Development, and since 2002 has developed more than 3,000 apartment units for low-income families and seniors throughout California and Texas. In addition, he currently oversees operations at Highland Property Construction, a related general contractor specializing in substantial rehabilitation of existing multifamily apartments.

Kristoffer is a native of the San Gabriel Valley, having been born and raised in Arcadia, and currently resides in Monrovia with his wife and four children.

Tiffany Chelsvig Vice President

Tiffany is Vice President of People Operations at DISQO, an innovative market research firm that helps brands create better consumer experiences with higher-quality opinion and behavioral data. She also worked in the nonprofit sector, serving as Director of Human Resources at a Marin County child welfare organization dedicated to protecting, serving, nurturing and healing at-risk children and adolescents. Her experience there, along with being a mother of two, attracted her to BGCF’s mission.

Tiffany is a long-time resident of the San Gabriel Valley and believes the Club is one of the best ways to meet the needs of our most vulnerable kids and teens.

Jennifer D’Alvarez Treasurer

Jennifer is Vice President of Advancement at Pacific Clinics and has more than 20 years of leadership experience driving fundraising and grant strategies from concept to implementation. She sits on the board of directors for Yoga Haven Las Vegas, is a member of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is a Certified Fundraising Executive.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Northridge and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. She resides in Monrovia with her husband and two children.

Charlyn Quiec Secretary

Charlyn is a graduate of the University of the Philippines Dental School where she finished in the top of her class. She is dedicated to creating beautiful smiles for her patients.

In addition to serving on the board of Boys & Girls Club of the Foothills, Charlyn is an active member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Monrovia Chamber of Commerce.

Monte Baier

Monte is Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., the owner of Panda Express, a nationwide, fast-casual restaurant chain with 1,500 restaurants in 42 states and Mexico with over 22,000 employees. He is responsible for legal and risk affairs for Panda Express.

In addition to serving on the Boys & Girls Club of the Foothills board, Monte is also a member of the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees of the Chandler School, a K-8 independent school in Pasadena, California.

Jason Berns

Jason is a lead agent for The Berns Team of Keller Williams Realty. Jason, his wife Laura, and their team of agents have assisted over 500 families with their real estate needs.

The Berns Team focuses on building relationships and diligently serving their clients. Their people-driven business goals have helped them close over $80 million in 2017, placing them among the top agents in LA County and the top five Realtors in the San Gabriel Valley.

Kathleen Hwang

Kathleen is the owner and founder of Kathleen C. Hwang Orthodontics. She received her Bachelor of Science from UCLA and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from UCSF. She is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Academy for Orthodontic Excellence, the California Dental Association, and San Gabriel Dental Society.

Kathleen was born in Taiwan and grew up in São Paulo, Brazil. She lives in Arcadia with her husband and daughter and has traveled extensively on service trips to provide education and dental care in underserved communities.

Kurt Luginbuhl

Kurt serves as Vice President at Interior Services, his family’s Monrovia-based business that provides window covering installation services to the commercial construction industry. He is the father of three young children and an active participant in the Monrovia community.

Kurt holds a degree in philosophy and theology from Point Loma Nazarene University and an MBA from Pepperdine University.

Jacques Nack

Jacques is CEO of the JNN Group, Inc., a Pasadena-based data analytics and risk and compliance consulting firm specializing in business analytics, data security, and data privacy. He deeply resonates with the Boys & Girls Club’s mission to enable young people to reach their full potential.

Jacques is an immigrant father who built his success as an entrepreneur from limited resources and loves how the Club fosters confidence and character, helping to set youth up for success in life.

Glenn Oyoung

Glenn is a director on the national advertising team at Kaiser Permanente and manages advertising and marketing for the two largest regions – Northern and Southern California. He is an avid automotive enthusiast, co-founder of the popular community event Carcadia at Route 66, author of the children’s book P is for Petersen, and a contributor to LaCar.com as an editor-at-large.

A former resident of Arcadia, Glenn served as a member of the Arcadia Rotary Club, was a founding director of the Arcadia Police Foundation, and volunteered with the Special Olympics Host Town Committee. He currently resides in Glendora with his wife Jennifer and their two daughters, Juliet and Colette.

Ashley Sanchez

Ashley is a professional American soccer player, playing midfielder for the Washington Spirit in the National Women’s Soccer League and the United States National Team. In 2016, she was named U.S. Soccer Young Female Player of the Year and became the first player in U.S. history to play in multiple World Cups in one year.

She attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she played for the Bruins from 2017–2019. Ashley was raised in Monrovia and is an alumna of Boys & Girls Club of the Foothills.

Larry Spicer

Larry was elected to the City Council in 2013 and sworn in on April 30, 2013. He served as Mayor Pro Tem from May 2015 through April 2016. Larry was born and raised in Monrovia and served his country in the United States Army.

His community involvement includes roles such as Trustee of Second Baptist Church Monrovia, Watch Dog Dad for Bradoaks Elementary, Peace on Patrol Parent at Clifton Middle School and Monrovia High School, Red Cross Volunteer, Certified MAP Neighborhood Leader, Board Member of the Community Mediation Team, Make a Difference Day Committee Member, and Board Member of Duarte Hawks Youth Sports Association.

Martina Lee Strickland

Martina serves as Chief Growth Officer at Clever Care Health Plan. She is a seasoned healthcare leader with over 16 years of experience in business growth, specializing in revitalizing underdeveloped markets, building strong sales teams, and creating retention strategies. Martina has held leadership roles at UnitedHealthcare, Anthem, and Wellcare/HealthNet. She previously worked as a multicultural advertising Group Account Director under Y&R in New York and WPP in Los Angeles. Martina holds a Master’s Degree in Advertising from Syracuse University.

She lives in Monrovia with her husband Bob and their daughter, and finds joy in family life, travel, and community engagement.

Blaine Fetter Past Chair Emeritus

Blaine is an award-winning developer of commercial and residential real estate. He began his career over 35 years ago with The Seeley Company (now Collier International) and by 1980 was a principal in Boone Fetter Associates.

A lifelong resident of the San Gabriel Valley, Blaine was one of the four founders of the San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership (SGVEP) and served as its chairman in both 1993 and 2003. He is currently on the SGVEP board, is a past chair of Boys & Girls Club of the Foothills, and serves as an overseer of the Huntington Library.

John Wilson Executive Director

John has been the Executive Director of Boys & Girls Club of the Foothills since 2010. A Monrovia resident since 1998, he is past president of the Monrovia Schools Foundation and a former board member of the Monrovia Chamber of Commerce and AYSO Region 2. He also served as president of Arcadia Rotary. John is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine.

He is married to Betsy and has three kids—Kiley, Jack, and Miles. John has spent his career in youth development and is deeply passionate about the impact BGCF has on young lives.
